Kylie Grimes (Gold medalist Paralympian) Courtney Orange (Commonwealth Gymnast) Had the privilege of sharing their stories with pupils and staff at Frogmore Primary School in Hampshire Surrey, united kingdom.
The session organised by Sports for Schools consists of an hour of sporting exercises that each class in the school gets to partake in. After the energy filled sessions, usually the athlete gets to tell the school and their staff about their story and how they managed to achieve successful journeys.
EVENT or School Motivational Speaker
Kylie usually Shares her motivational story and how she was injured as well as the adversities that she went through whilst on the pathway to competing and winning gold at the Paralympics in Japan.
Courtney usually shares his story and the struggles that he experienced as a gymnast without funding and how he managed to compete at the Commonwealth Games whilst still working a full time job.
Both athletes speak at schools and universities, as well as organizations. Talk topics covered are on resilience, perseverance, well-being and motivation.
The motivational speaker sessions are sometimes interactive, where the athlete asks the audience questions and sometimes even gets them to perform certain moves related to the athletes sport.
