Does walking and talking create a happier wellbeing?
It’s entirely up to you!!!
Meeting a Depressed stranger
I am usually a morning person and often I have a morning workout three times a week. On this particular mild morning I was coming to the end of my fitness routine when a lady stopped and notice me doing some pull ups on the tennis court entrance frame. She positively said,” good morning” and then said “I love what you are doing there”
Creating Rapport & Openness to Express inner thoughts & feelings
I energetically greeted her good morning and responded in Japanese
“KONDICHIWA”
The lady was pleasantly surprised and she responded that she was feeling much better after feeling slightly depressed, experiencing anxiety and having had suicidal thoughts.
After an in depth 15 minute conversation about our lives and the journeys that we were both on, I noticed that the lady was very conscious about what people thought about her.
I had commended her on getting out of the house and taking a walk and for being so cheerful and happy. I also advised that there was no need for thoughts from the past and thoughts from the future to affect her current positive mindset in getting out in the nature and walking as she had done that very morning.
Ultimate reasons for LIVING
“I want to help people with their well-being, start a charitable organization and become a comedian”. Were the 3 life intentions that this kind lady wanted to achieve in life.
She was actually inspired by the famous comedian Romesh Ranganathan, whom she actually taught at the same school with.
After having listened to her story, intentions and feelings there was a sense of happiness and fulfilment in her day. She had managed to share her emotions and also be encouraged by the possibility of actually achieving her lifelong dreams. She went on to invite me to a monthly Japanese community event.
